Stunning 50s cotton dress with a very New Look silhouette by London label Frederica Starke. Soft beige/sandy yellow cotton with a dark navy blue stencil style floral print. Beautiful fitted bodice with short sleeves and a wide rounded neckline. Waist nips in and has an interesting paneled design to the front underneath which the skirt falls in generous draped gathers. Back button fastening. Really stunning silhouette!
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a XS-S. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 37" (best fit smaller, I would advice for 34-35" bust)
Shoulder to waist: 15"
(There is a 2.5" hem on this)
Good condition, presents very nicely. Some small signs of alterations, most not easily noticed when worn:
-Has been rehemmed, but original hem is uncut, so could be let down if wanted, however still has a good length as is. It also looks like this originally was a bit more long-waisted and the waistline has been taken up slightly, leaving one stitched up button hole at the back. Not very noticeable and easily covered with a belt. Excess fabric at the waistline has however been cut, so could not be restored. Buttons are a replacement.
-Some tiny signs of wear: one small scuff to the back of the neckline, see photo. One very very faint mark at the waist, see photo.
