Eccentric 80s handloomed fringe knit dress by Brenda French, in a slubby textured rayon. Really lovely jade green colour. V-neck to front and back and short sleeve, quite low/deep slit armhole. Fitted stretch shape with a shaggy tiered design all the way down to the hem, shaped in a v-design. Dress is knitted and unlined, soft and stretchy fit. No fasteners, this pulls over the head. Really unusual and oddball vintage piece, I just love it. Looks great with a belt to add some definition.
The dress is labeled a size 2 but fits approx like a Medium, would estimate for a UK12-14. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model:
Chest: 36" unstretched, but does have a lot of give, up to at least 40" but probably best fit smaller as it has to pull over the head.
Waist: 30" stretches to about 36"
Hip: 36" stretches to about 42"
Good condition. Due to the nature of a dress like this made in long fringes of slubby rayon yarn, it does have some tangling to the fringes and some fluffiness due to slight unravelling of the threads in the yarn towards the bottom edges of the fringing. As the yarn has a slubby texture it is prone to tangling and really hard to smooth out perfectly. It's not a smooth even fringe, more a shaggy long haired style. I've priced the dress to reflect this, still looks fab as is.
