Dramatic evening dress in a antique silver flock pattern red velvet, heavy and beautifully drapey. Fitted sleeveless bodice, subtly drop wasted with a scooped neck with a pleated mesh modesty inset to the neck. Full flared midi skirt. Side zipper to fasten. Approx 40s era, but this is a piece which has seen some historical and later alterations. The fabric is really gorgeous, heavy and glistening, reminds me of 20s/30s velvet pieces.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.

CONDITION
Good condition. Dress has some later alteration, nothing overly noticeable, mostly just when scrutinising internally:
-Zipper has been replaced, and a modern zip has been put in. It also looks like the hem has been altered, it's a handsewn very short hem sewn with a satin bias band. There is a lining to the bodice which looks like it has been added later. Some small visible stitches to the neckline.
