Beautiful 50s day dress in a striking dark blue, white and pale grey print with wide bands of alternating flowers and trees. Bodice has a straight cut neck and slightly lower v-design to the back. Curved underbust with a seam running in an angle from the armholes and meeting up at the front with small gathers to the centre front. Nipped in waistline and seeet full skirt sewn in wide pleats. Back metal zipper to fasten. No labels.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model:
Shoulder to waist: 15""
(There is a short hem on this)
Good condition. Presents very nicely. Some signs of alterations:
-Hem is finished with a running stitch, and overlocked internally so I think this has been taken up in more recent times. There is a very faint crease line about 1.8" up from the hem. There is also a running stitch and a small slit to the shoulder seam, which may not be original, I suspect so, but hard to say. Some signs of the internal side seams of the bodice have been taken in slightly. I also think the zipper is a replacement, though it is an original metal zip in keeping with the era. The alignment at the top of the zip is a little bit awkward, but this isn't very noticeable when worn. All shown in photos.
