Elegant and versatile black wool autumn/winter coat from the 1950s by Dixie Shops. Really lovely quality wool, witha slightly fuzzy mohair texture to the finish. Beautiful fit and flare design with fitted waistline and gored skirt. The lower part of the skirt has interesting velvet trimmed scallop flaps which add a nice touch. Seven black and beige shank buttons to fasten to the front. High neck with small collar. Long sleeve softly tapered towards the cuff. Fully lined in black satin.
The coat is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a modern day Medium. For your best fit please refer to the measurements, and remember to allow a little room for movement.
Chest: 39" (best fit a little bit smaller, 36-38" chest I would estimate)
Waist: 30-31" (would best fit around 30")
Sleeve, from underarm to cuff: 18.5"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam at top back: 17"
Length: 44" from nape to hem
Very good condition with some light signs of wear.
-Some slight loss of the fuzzyness of the wool to some extremities like cuff and placket edges, but this is not very noticeable when worn, see photos.
-Lining is in very good condition with just one tiny little hole by the placket.
