Lovely 50s winter coat in fuzzy wool with a soft light colour somewhere inbetween very light grey and brown, best word I could use to describe it is a sand or stone colour. Lovely big collar and seamed bands around the chest with four large shank disk buttons to the front. Skirt flares out and has handy little pockets on the hip. Long slightly balloon shaped sleeves with turn up cuffs. Lined in a pale dusky pink light satin type fabric. No labels.
Coat is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The coat is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a modern day Medium. For your best fit please refer to the measurements, and remember to allow a little room for movement.
Shoulder to waist: 16"
Sleeve, from underarm to cuff: 17.5"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam at top back: approx 16"
Length: 44" from nape to hem
Good condition, just dry cleaned.
-Some slight signs of wear and rubbing to the wool around extremities (pocket edges, cuff edges, placket, button holes and tips of collar).
-Small mark to the back skirt of the coat, see photo and some yellowing around the inside of the collar. Coat has been dry cleaned and this sadly hasn't come out. The collar is folded up to show it in the photos, but in real life, when worn folded down as it should be, this is not very obvious.
-Lining is a little bit discoloured and greyed around the underarms. It is little bit worn around the arm holes, but still intact, no torn or damaged. One small pen tip sized hole near the waist. See last photos. (With the sheen of the lining, it was very hard to capture the underarm discolouration, as it is subtle, but a little bit more noticeable than it appears in the photos.
Priced to reflect condition and sold as is.
