Fantastic black crepe 40s dress with CC41 utility label. Elegant and understated design with a very low cut v-neck and lovely tiered skirt. The neckline is a plunging V that finishes at the bust. Wide fitted waistband with tie straps to cinch silhouette in. Padded shoulders and keyhole buttoned back with three small covered buttons. Midi skirt with two tiers. Side seam has an small open pleat which fastens with hidden popper buttons. Lightweight rayon crepe.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like an XS. For your best fit please refer to the measurements. Please note the opening to the side seam is very short so this is quite snug to get into, I would err on the side of caution with the measurements.
Fit on model: as shown but was very snug to get into.
Underbust: 29-30" approx
Shoulder to top of waistband: 15"
Shoulder to waist: 16.5"
Shoulder to dropped waist: 19"
Shoulder to shoulder: 14"
(There is a 3.5" hem on this)
Good condition a little bit worn looking with some sheen to the crepe, possibly some ironing sheen to the back shoulders and a a couple of faint marks to the skirt, though as it is black it is fairly forgiving. White lace has been used as backing fabric at the underbust, so this is showing a little bit a the very dip of the neck, see photos, I also suspect this had some sort of modesty panel original as seems very plunging for 40s.
