Stunning black jacket by Hershelle, approx 40s era. Lightweight black wool crepe fabric with cuffs, collar and placket finished in a wide rib inky black velvet. The fit is to die for, with all the detailing and seam beautifully accentuating the hourglass silhouette. Single breasted cut with eight covered buttons to the chest and a neat high collared neck. Long sleeve with turn up cuff. Very striking pointed pin tuck seams around the waistline, which really enhance the cinched look of the silhouette. Jacket finished mid-hip. Unlined.
The jacket is not labeled with a size but fits approx a Small. Please refer to the measurements for your best fit and please note that you may need to leave a little bit of room for movement depending on desired fit.
15.5" from shoulder to shoulder
Sleeve: 22" from shoulder to cuff
Sleeve: 15.5" from underarm to cuff
Good condition, a little bit as is, but still looks smashing on.
-Three small darns to the back, see last two photos which shows the upper back, as well as the close ups of each darn.
-This is unlined and I suspect this originally would have had a lining, which has since been removed. As this is very nicely made internally, with all the seams finished neatly, it is perfectly wearable without a lining.
-Tiny bit of felting to the underarm seams, but this is not very visible when worn.
