Late 50s cotton day dress in a lovely heartshaped green and yellow leaf print in crisp cotton. Fitted sleeveless bodice with darts to the waist and a high wide v-neck. Waistband nips in and comes with a matching cinch belt. Skirt is very full with wide pleating to the waistband. Back metal zipper to fasten. Commercially made, but sadly the label has faded.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a M-L, and fits petite/short-waisted. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Waist: 32" (can be belted in to 30")
Shoulder to waist: 14"
(There is a 1.5" hem on this)
Good condition with some signs of wear and alteration, a little bit as is, but does present beautifully when worn:
-The arm openings are finished with a running stitch and the interfacing material folded on the reverse and it doesn't look original to the dress so I wonder if the arm openings have been altered. Nothing particularly noticeable when worn though but worth noting for accuracy.
-Belt is a little bit deeper/brighter in colour than the rest of the dress, suggesting some very light even overall fade.
-Zipper is metal but looks like a modern replacement, a little bit chunkyer than older dress zips.
-One tiny hole near the hem and one slightly large hole to the front of the skirt. Hem excess could be used to patch this.
-One small repair under the arm. See photos.
-And some light general wear, not visible when worn to note: slight signs of wear to the pleats crease folds. Internally some seam repairs/resewn seams, again nothing visible when worn.
