Beautiful late 30s evening gown in a silky black floral rayon. Black with red, dusky peach, white, periwinkle blue and pale grey-green print. Beautiful silky feel and a lovely glossy sheen to the material. Wide v-neck and sleeveless cut with gathered ruched seams to the front of the bust. Seamed high waistline and long skirt which is bias cut and clings beautifully to the curves. Back is a lower v-design with overlapping to the underbust/waist seam. Short side slit with popper buttons to fasten. Comes with a matching bolero jacket which has an open cut scalloped frotn and scalloping all around the bottom edge. Half sleeves with puffed shoulders and light padding to enhance the silhouette. No makers labels but must have been tailored as it has a small size tag to the neck of the bolero.
The dress is not labeled with a size, but fits approx like a general size XS-S, the bias cut will create some easy so fit is slightly flexible, but I would estimate for a UK6-8, but please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 33" (will give to 34" max but I think this looks best on smaller)
High Waist/Underbust: 28"
14.5" from shoulder seam to waistband (due to the bias cut this may fit slightly shorter as the bodice stretches on the width)
Length: approx 57" on the hanger, but as it stretches on the bias it will be shorter when worn
Very good condition.
-Dress has belt loops but does not come with a belt. Would look great with a plain black sash.
-One tiny darn to the top of the buttoned placket under the arm, it hides in the black material and is not noticeable when worn, see photo.
-Some tiny signs of repair to the rolled edging of the v-neckline, see photo.
-Some very very faint signs of colour smudging to the print in places, though all in all, these hide in the print, and are slight enough not to detract.
Presents absolutely beautifully.
