50s cotton day dress by St Michael "Marlin". White cotton with a blue and green floral print and a thicker bold border band around the lower part of the skirt. Sleeveless bodice with a high square neck and a fitted waistband with a wide cinch belt. Full skirt which is sewn in two wide box pleat to the front and smaller inch wide pleats through the sides and the back. Side metal zipper to fasten.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is labeled to fit "the shorter woman" and a 18S for 42" hips, but this isn't overly petite or short waisted so would fit a regular size, I would estimate for a modern day M-L, possibly for a large UK12 or a small UK14. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Belt measures 30" on smallest setting and 33" on the loosest
Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
(There is a 3" hem on this)
Very good condition. One small scuff/fray in the cotton, just below the neckline, see photo.
