Striking dark red 40s coat with by Crayson with the Double Eleven / "Dinner plate" utility label. Lovely rich wine colour in a soft velvety big cord fabric. Single breasted cut with three large covered buttons to the chest. Long sleeve with turn up cuff and strong shoulder pads. Fitted waist with a slightly dropped waistband and pleating over the hips, giving the skirt a soft fullness, not the silhouette of a 50s coat, but a nice movement and flare over a dress. Fully lined in burgundy.
Coat is pictured with a light petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The coat is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a modern day Medium. For your best fit please refer to the measurements, and remember to allow a little room for movement.
Upper Hip: 34"
Sleeve, from underarm to cuff: 17"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam at top back: 15.5"
Length: 44.5" from nape to hem
Very good condition.
-Some streaky fade hidden on the inside of the pleats of the skirt and to areas of the sleeves. When worn, due to the dark colour, this isn't very obvious. Please see two last photos.
