Stunning 40s dress in a textured rayon in navy blue with a bright floral print of daisy -esque flowers in cream, yellow, light red and sky blue. Bodice is short open cape/flutter sleeves with a high rounded collarless neck finished with a small decorative bow in front and a keyhole slit with hook and eye at back. Waist is fitted and the upper skirt has a loose slightly longer peplum overlay. Bias cut midi skirt underneath. Dress has no fasteners so has to pull over the head.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small, UK8-10, please note as the dress has to pull over the head it runs a bit smaller than the measurements suggest, so please allow a bit of room for ease of dressing unless you plan to have a zip put in, I would go by the unstretched measurements. There is a little bit of give due to the bias cut and fabric stretch. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 35" stretches to 37"
Waist: 27" stretches to 30"
Hip: 39" stretches to 44"
Shoulder to waist: 15"
Length: 49" on hanger (due to the bias cut this will fit shorter as it stretches on the width)
Very good condition.
-One tiny thread pull in the fabric to the bodice which looks like it was caused by two tiny pin holes, possibly where a brooch was attached?, see last photo.
-One small hole to the side of the bodice, below the arm opening, see photo.
-Some discreet alterations/repairs: Some tiny seam repairs where the cape sleeve attaches to the bodice, not noticeable when worn. Bodice has been let out slightly by pretty neatly and very discreetly adding a small wedge of matching fabric to either side seam, I don't think this would be in any way visible or noticeable when worn.
