Elegant 40s slip dress in a pastel aqua/mint blue. Fabric feels like a glossy non-stretch synthetic, with a small brocade pattern of half-circles. Fitted bodice with sweet puffed short sleeves and a high neck with a striking curved tiny pleat ruffle. Fitted waist. Very slightly a-lined midi skirt with seam across the top hip and a small curved pleat ruffle design to the front, matching that of the neckline.
No labels, possibly handmade. Dress has no fasteners, so has to pull over the head.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a S-M, I would estimate for a large UK10 to a small UK12. For your best fit please refer to the measurements. Dress has no fasteners, so has to pull on over the head, which means you need to leave a bit of room for movement to get into it. Fits best a bit loosely and cinched in with a belt.
Fit on model: fits as shown, a little bit loose fitting
Chest: 37" (dress has no fasteners, so has to pull one, which means it fits smaller than measurements suggest, would advice for approx)
Waist: 31" (dress has no fasteners, so has to pull one, which means it fits smaller than measurements suggest, would advice for approx)
Shoulder to waist: 16"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 14" (but will fit wider due to the puff)
-Looks like this may have had belt loops which have been cut of, leaving some faint signs of scuffing in a couple of spots to the sides of the hip by the waistband.
-Small darn to back hip, see photos.
-Has been rehemmed.
