40s winter dress in a really lovely white Stewart tartan check wool. Soft cream colour base wiht vivid red, green, blue, yellow and black. Fitted bodice with 3/4 dolman sleeve with turn up cuffs. Rounded neck with v-slit collar to the front. Three chunky grey buttons to the chest. Fitted waistband with side metal zipper. Bias cut full skirt, sewn in four panels with the pattern matching up perfectly to the front and back seams! Small decorative pocket flap to the hip and nicely pleated draping to the centre front and back. Soft wool fabric, unlined, you may want to wear over a slip. No labels, most likely handmade.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small, wool is quite thick, so you may want to leave a bit of room for movement. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.

Presents very nicely but has some small flaws/mends that aren't immediately obvious.
-There is some hazing/very very faint colour bleeding to some of the cream, this is very faint, so in duskier lighting this is nothing you would notice, I don't think it detracts that much. As it is very slight it is very hard to photograph, but please see last photos.
-There is one pretty neat patch repair to the skirt. It hides in the fullness and unless you look on the inside, it is pretty hard to spot.
-Little bit of felting/rubbing wear to the arm pits.
-Hem is short and handsewn so may have been altered.
