Classic little 50s Hawaiian cotton dress in a lovely blue, green and cream print with what looks like bamboo and large blue green waterlillies. Fitted bodice with straps that button on the back (with two settings, but could also be worn halter style. Sweetheart bust with small folded petal flaps. Bust is lined with an extra layer of cotton and an internal slightly stiffening interfacing material to give a bit of hold and shape. Bodice is shirred down both sides. Waist is nipped in and the skirt is a sarong style with a tie to the side of the hip. Underneath are a built in pair of pants, bloomer style, with elasticated leg cuffs and crotch buttoning. Dress is unlabeled and fastens with a back metal zipper.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 35" stretches to a tight 37" but I think would best fit around a 35-36" chest
Hip: approx 38" (little bit of give due to the wrap design and the inside pants are a bloomer style with elastication to the legs so not overly tight fitting)
Top of bust to waist: 11"
Skirt length: 25"
Length: 35.5" (not including shoulder strap)
Full length: approx 41.5" from shoulder to hem on the longest button setting
(There is a 1" hem on this)
Good condition. Presents very nicely and shirring still strong.
-Hem has been let down leaving a faint fade line about 1.7" up from the bottom.
-Small repair and tiny pin hole by the sarong skirt by the side of the hip, very hard to spot when worn.
-One of the strap buttons is very slightly mismatched but this wouldn't be noticeable when worn. The shoulder straps have also been taken up by an inch approx so could be let down to be made longer.
-Some very light even fade to the cotton.
Priced to reflect condition.
