Lovely spring/summer dress in cream with a sweet small green, red, purple and pink berry print. Reallly stunning fit and flare design with multiple darts to the waistline flaring out into a very full skirt. Empire bustlien with a very flattering gathered bust with a curved underbust seam and wide shoulder straps with sewn down gathers on the shoulders. Small bow to the centre bust with long straps floating down the front of the skirt. Outer fabric feels like thicker cotton with a textured stripe pattern, this is backed with a sewn in synthetic, which means it is quite stiff and holds the shape very nicely. Back metal zipper to fasten. Label is Dorothy Gitsham. Late 50s or early 60s era. Great little spring/summer piece, easily dressed up for party/cocktails or worn as a day dress.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.SIZE
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a XS. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: fits as shown, but this was too tight to fit comfortably so best fit someone smaller
Shoulder to underbust: 11.2"
Shoulder to waist: 15"
(There is just under 1" hem on this)
Very good condition. Slight yellowing to the back of the waist, see photo. The bow is a little bit more cream/yellow in tone than the rest of the dress which is more crisp white, this is super slight. I also wanted to add that the bow could easily be removed if you prefered the dress without it, it's handsewn on.
