Sharp little 50s cotton day dress in a striking black and white print. Understated and bold at the same time. White cotton with a black gridwork print with paisley -esque and floral intricate bands of print across the bust, hip and knee. Lovely - classic 50s - silhouette with a nipped in waistline and a really generous full skirt. Bodice is sleeveless and has a fitted underbust. Wide rounded neckline and a slightly lower cut scoop back. Back metal zipper fastener. No labels but I think commercially made.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 35" to 36" stretched
Shoulder to underbust: 11"
Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
(There is a very short hem on this)
Very good condition. I'm wondering if the skirt has been let down on this, though there aren't really any signs of this, no crease or fade line, but the current hem is finished with a running stitch and is very short and hence doesn't weigh the hem down very much. As the dress is quite long it would it could be taken up if preferred, but perfectly wearable as is, and may well have been designed this way.
