Darling little Horrockses sun dress and bolero set in a white and green cotton with pixelated floral/gridwork print. The dress has thin straps and an empire bust with a light pastel green band underneath tied into a bow in front. Waistline nips in and the skirt - in classic Horrockses style is generous and full (with a generous hem to boot!). The bodice is lined in white cotton and the skirt has a thicker cotton petticoat built in. Comes with the matching bolero which has a cropped high waist lenght and short sleeves. Scooped neck with three small pastel green buttons to the chest. Horrockses label to the bolero only.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is labeled a vintage size 16 but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Top of bust to waist: 10.8"
Shoulder to waist: approx 15.5-16"
Skirt length: 25.5"
(There is an almost 3" hem on this)
Bolero measures 12.5" long and 37" to the bust and 31" to the high waist/underbust.
Good wearable condition but a little bit as is and priced accordingly:
-The main issue is two small darns to the back of the bodice, see photo.
-Straps have been resewn in and one area has had a small repair/reinforcement where the straps attaches. The straps have to small frays but are other wise in good condition.
-I suspect the bodice originally had boning which has been removed, but still wears well without.
-The zipper has been replaced but with an original vintage metal zipper. There is one small fray to the zipper placket and some tiny signs of wear to the top of the zipper.
When worn with the bolero none of this can really be seen so it presents very nicely still. Had it been pristine, the price would have been double that asked.
