Fantastic 50s coat with such a classic New Look silhouette and a lavishly full skirt. Navy blue, slightly lighter wool fabric with dusky pink lining. Wide collar and beautifull loose fitting sleeves with big turn up cuffs. Waist is fitted and fastens in a single breasted fashion with three lightweight round buttons. Simply huge sculptural patch pocket on the hip with large flaps and matching buttons. Gorgeous sweep, looks so dramatic with a petticoat. No labels. This isn't a very warm coat, so would best suit the transitional seasons, spring and autumn and might even work for colder summer nights. Makes for a perfect evening/opera coat too.
The coat is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a modern day Medium. Coat has been pinned to fit the model. For your best fit please refer to the measurements, and remember to allow a little room for movement.
Sleeve, from underarm to cuff: 17.5" Shoulder to cuff: approx 25.5" (estimated as there is no shoulder seam)
Length: 48" from nape to hem
Very good. Some slight scuffs in the fabric next to the buttons where it looks like the buttons had been moved at some point, see last photo. There are a couple of small rips/frays in the lining to one of the sleeves/underarms, but these are slight enough not to effect the wear and lining is otherwise sturdy and good.
