50s wool and taffeta dress by Elinor Gay. Bodice is in navy blue wool with half sleeves and a high choker collar trimmed with rhinestones and finished with a small strap detail with little rhinestone squares. Nipped in waistline and very full skirt in a constrasting crisp, slightly stiff taffeta. Back metal zipper to fasten.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale. Also shown with a belt on the model, this is not included either.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a XS. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: as shown, but this was too tight to fit comfortably, and a bit too petite in the bodice, hence wearing with a belt.
Shoulder to waist: 14.5"
Sleeve from underarm to cuff: 10"
Good wearable condition with some wear and some things to note:
-One small area of wear to the skirt, near the side towards the lower part, hides well in the fullness. There is another couple of tiny little scuffs in the taffeta, but these are less obvious.
-Some small darns to the bodice. See photos. Most are so tiny they can't be seen.
-Wool feels a little bit tight, so may have shrunken slightly, zipper is very very slightly puckered. Still wears well as is, just fits a bit smaller.
Priced to reflect condition.
