Lovely 50s day dress in a sleek Modernist / Mid Century print of black and white lines and painterly diamond shapes in turqouise and brown. Shirtwaister style with collared neck and three decorative black buttons to the chest. The dress fastens with concealed popper buttons under the placket, the outer buttons are decorative only. Fitted waistband with a side metal zipper. Generous full skirt. Fabric feels like cotton or possibly a cotton blend.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Shoulder to waist: 16"
(There is a 3.5" hem on this and feels like anothor 1" hidden under the fold)
-There are some incredibly discreet and very very neat repairs done to the front of the arm openings and one smaller triagular patch to the side seam (I took me ages to even spot that one - it is so discreet!). These have been perfectly patched, matching up the fabric to a T. This is so well done, I don't think is noticeable at all when worn. See photos.
-One small blue mark to the front of the skirt, hides well in the gathers of the skirt and the vivid print.
-There is a tiny line of ghost stitching just above the waistband to the back, again this is not noticeable when worn, only on close inspection. Some tiny tiny scuffs of wear to the edge of the waistband in front, again not very noticeable.
Priced to reflect condition.
