Handmade 50s cotton shirt dress in a dreamy pastel palette of dusky light blue, grey and pink with a stencilled leaf and floral print with little silhouettes of ballerinas in white. Bodice has a collared neck and three small white buttons to the chest. Wide shoulder cut creates a short sleeve effect. Fitted waistband and generous full a-line skirt sewn in four gored panels. Side metal zipper to fasten. No labels, possibly handmade.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.SIZE
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Large, you may want to leave a little bit of room for movement in the bust as side zip is quite short and bodice is not meant to fit super-tightly. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: cipped to fit
Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
(There is a short hem on this)
-Some signs of alterations to sides seams internally but this can't be seen when worn. Two horizontal darts have been added from the side seams approx to the vertical bust darts, these do look just like a part of the construction, but looking internally this is a very clever repair to one side that has been matched on the other side to make it look structural.
-One small nick in the front of the skirt and one linear machine seam repaired tear to the back hip. See photos.
Priced to reflect condition.
