Perfect little 50s winter dress in a dark tartan/plaid pattern. Deep green, navy, blue, black and red with fuzzy textured white accents. Bodice is bias cut with pleats on the shoulder seam running diagonlly over the bust. High v-slit neckline. Half sleeve with turn up cuffs. Fitted waist with a wide belt. Skirt has a soft fullness, sewn in inch wide pleats to the waistband. Back metal zipper to fasten. Fabric feels like a flannel type cotton or cotton blend, quite heavy and slightly thicker than dress weight cotton. No labels. Great winter dress, very Audrey Horne!
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 34" stretches to 36" tightly (probably best for a 34-35" chest)
Waist: 27" stretches to 28"
Shoulder to waist: 16.5" on the hanger but this is slighlty deceptive as the bodice is bias cut so this will shorten as it stretches on the width
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 15"
Sleeve from underarm to cuff: 10"
Length: 43.5" (may be slightly shorter when worn as the bodice is bias cut)
(There is a 1" hem on this)
Dress is in very good condition with no visible damage. Only thing to note is the inside seams aren't overlocked and show some fraying and loose threads throughout, though this can't be seen when worn.
Belt however is in pretty poor condition with a lot of wear and some darn repairs to the belt rings, see photo which shows both front and back.
