Fantatic 50s princess coat with the most dramatic big cape collar. Unusual teal colour in a soft slightly fuzzy/hairy textured wool, possibly with some mohair. Both colour and design is so striking. Fitted through to the waist with a softly flared skirt and slot pockets on the hip. Long sleeves with padded shoulders. Fastens to the front with four grey toned buttons and a hook and loop to the neck of the cape (but this is quite fiddly to do up!). Fully lined in a lightweight black fabric, possibly rayon.
Coat is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
Not labeled with a size but fits approx a S, approx a UK10. Please refer to the measurements for your best fit and please note you may want to leave a bit of room for movement as the measurements are of the actual coat, your own measurements would need to be a bit smaller for this to fit well.
Chest: 37" (best fit at leat 1-2" smaller depending on desired fit, fits me well as a 35" chest)
Waist: 30" (Best fit at least 1-2" smaller depending on desired fit and what you would like to wear underneath)
Length: 46" from nape to hem
Sleeve: 16.5" from underarm to cuff
Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
Good condition, not pristine but still presents nicely when worn. There are some things to note:
-There is some slight dulling to the colour of the wool around wear areas like pockets, collar and cuffs/sleeves and hem, which may improve with dry cleaning. There is some slight crease marks to the inside sleeve at the crease of the arm. See photos. Coat has been steamed cleaned and brushed down.
-A small area of wear/repair to the side of the hem. One small patch has been added here and there are also a couple of lines of loss of hair to the pile, see photos. Due to where it is, I don't think this detracts to much when worn even if it is not invisible, see photos.
-On close examination there are some small pen tip sized grazes in places, but due to the fuzzy wool, these aren't very noticeable when worn, and all pretty slight (except the previous mentioned), none are holes, just surface grazes.
-Some light wear around edges of cuffs and edge of placket where the fuzzy texture of the wool has worn down somewhat.
-Lining is intact and in good condition, very wearable, only a few of small holes and some minor marks to note. See photos.
-Buttons have been replaced.
I've priced this to reflect condition.
