Early 60s day dress in a light cream with a very soft pastel green and beige print with floral designs. Fitted, subtly drop waisted, bodice with wide v-neck and five decorative buttons to the chest. Skirt is very full and falls freely in tiny pleated tucks from the waistband. Bodice is lined but skirt is unlined. Fabric has a very slight sheerness to it as it is quite lightweight. Feels like a poly-cotton blend. No makers labels (but I have had a similar print in a different colourway, which was labeled Carnegie). Back metal zipper to fasten. 60s era, but still has a very 50s silhouette so wears well with earlier styles.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a S. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Dropped Waist: 30"
Shoulder to natural waist: 14.5" approx
Shoulder to dropped waist: 17"
(There is a 0.5" hem on this)
Good condition, no marks or holes, but has been altered. Side seams have been taken in and let back out, though this isn't easily noticeable. And (from what I can deduce) the neckline has been lowered slightly and the faux-placket design with the buttons has been added to the front. This is not tailored, but a homemade alteration. The buttons could be unpicked and removed if prefered as they are decorative only. The dip of the v-neck is handsewn down inside and has not been hemmed or overlocked. Some very very minor pilling to the fabric in places, to the effect is very slight. One tiny mark near the hem, not noticeable when worn, see last photo.
Priced to reflect condition.
