The 70s loved a tromp l'oeil garment, and Roberta di Camerino was truly the master of the art! Surrealist and playful, this one is just a wonderful example of her designs, and there are even photos of her wearing it herself at a party with Dali! The dress is made from a soft polyester jersey and is designed to resemble a tux outfit with jacket and trousers and a vivid red cumberbund. Front buttoning in sharp white with a big 70s pointed collar to the neck. Long sleeves with white cuffs, with button holes for cufflinks. Softly a-lined shape. No fastners other than the buttoning, pulls over the head. Dress label to back of placket and trademark R initial to the waistband.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a S-M. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 34" stretches to 36"
Waist: 30" stretches to 32"
Hip: 38" stretches to 40"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 14.5"
Sleeve from underarm to cuff: 17.5"
Very good condition. Has had the hem seam resewn in hand, not sure if it has been rehemmed, there is a turned up finish to the hemline which look original and the photos I have found online do not indicate the original length.
