I love this little dress, it's simple, understated, but so sleek and classic. It's an 80s St Michaels dress, but the silhouette is very futuristic 1950s in style, with a quite strong shoulder and a full sweep circle skirt. Fabric is a soft grey silk, which is very lightweight and floaty. Dress fastens with buttons all through the front. The bodice is fitted and has a high collarless neck and short sleeves. The shoulders are padded from a strong silhouette, but these could be unpicked and removed if you prefered it without. Waistline nips in and the skirt is super full and looks great both with a petticoat (for more of a 50s flare) or without one. Concealed slot pockets to the hips. Super versatile and a great wardrobe staple!
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is labeled a size 38/UK10 but fits approx like a Small and I would say it is more like a UK8 in modern sizing. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Shoulder to waist: 17"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 17"
Good condition with some minor flaws, none that detract or is very noticeable when worn:
-One tiny spot on the side of the skirt, see photo.
-Some very tiny pin holes, most in a cluster near the hem of the skirt, see photo, I've circled them as they are hard to spot as they are very small, but also found one tiny pin prick sized one on the front shoulder, near the shoulder seam.
-Very very faint spot of yellowing to the pit of one of the underarms, see photo, not really visible when worn.
-Some minor seam straining to the bodice seams.
