Very rare and utterly divine original late 60s BIBA dress. It's a masterpiece of delicateness and romance - floaty and slightly sheer - with the most amazing draped sleeve magic! Fabric is a very light gauze cotton, slightly sheer and so soft. Dress has a high fitted empire bust with with a very low cut scooped bust which is finished with a small frill, trimmed in brown lace. Neckline has a drawstring to adjust it to your shape. Underbust is fitted and there is a tie belt to pull you in further at the back. The sleeves are a real statement design, long sleeve with a tiered bell/angel design draping down the upper arm, also trimmed in matching brown lace. The cuff of the sleeve is loose fitted with a small drawstring tie and a cute lace trimmed frill. Dress is long length, approx ankle length, not quite maxi. It fastens to the back with a central back zipper.
Perfectly bohemian and absolutely stunning on! Would make a perfect vintage wedding outfit! A real showstopper.
Not labeled with a size but fits approx a size XS, UK6 approx, It has very slim fitting upper arms (I can't fit into it because of that so please do check the upper arm measurement as that is crucial!) Please refer to the measurements. Dress is designed to sit quite loose and tie in with the back strap.
Waist: 27" (high empire waist, sits at the underbust.
11" approx from shoulder to underbust
Top of the sleeve, where the seam is quite narrow, just over 9" circumference (4.5-5" across).
Very good condition.
Some very very minor seam straining by the zipper and to underarms at back. One small yellow mark near the hem and a small spot further up on the same side, both shown in photos.
