Oh-so-elegant black 50s evening dress with the most killer neckline. Black satin type material with a soft sheen and all over embroidery of what looks like branches and clusters of berries. Fitted bodice with a striking keyhole style U-neckline which curves in over the shoulder bones. This has a sewn in pastel pink chiffon pleated sweetheart panel to add accent to the silhouette. Half sleeves with ruching pleats. Waistline nips in and the skirt is swooshy and full and has a sewn in underskirt with a small row of netting at the hem. Side metal zipper fastener. No labels but looks commercially made.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small / UK10. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
Sleeve from underarm to cuff: 8"
Very good condition.
-Some tiny areas where the embroidery is missing a few stitches, see last photo. There are also some areas where I have restored/re-embroidered the pattern, but these blend in well so are not immediately noticeable when worn.
-The chiffon panel is handsewn in and could be taken out. There is one small hole behind one of the pleats, though as this is hidden by the fold, it's not very obvious when worn.
