Fantastic 70s coat by Sheilagh Brown for Quorum. So many showstopping details in a fusion of gothic Victoriana and 40s Art Deco. Beautiful princess style with a full skirt and matching belt. Neat pointed collar with a single big covered button to the neck. Padded strong shoulders with a raised tear drop shaped design and long quite tight fitting sleeves with a drop shaped keyhole and button design. Small darts to the waist create fullness to the bust. Waistband fastens internally with a button and a small hook and eye outside to secure. Belt to cinch in. Full skirt in midi length with stylish tear drop pockets on the waist/hip. Fully lined in a very lightweight synthetic in black. Outer material feels like a fine, not too heavy, wool gabardine.
The coat is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a modern day Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements, and remember to allow a little room for movement.
Waist: 32" (but can be belted smaller)
Shoulder to waist: 17"
Sleeve, from underarm to cuff: 16"
Length: 48.5" from nape to hem
Exterior is very good but lining shows a bit of wear and repair. The following to note:
-One small hole/fray spot to the shoulder, see photo.
-Small darned repair to the tip of the belt, see photo.
-Lining is wearable as is, but is quite lightweight and has seen some wear and repairs. Long term you would probably want to have this relined, but totally wearable as is for now. There are some small holes and the underarm seams have been repaired and also a small linear repair coming down just from the underarm, looks like a dart but is a small repaired rip. See photos. Inside the sleeves there is some tearing to the lining. Last photo shows some of the smaller holes and the underarm repair.
