50s DARLING'S EDINBURGH VIOLET BLUE COAT WITH BALLOON SLEEVE AND PORTRAIT COLLAR - M-L
Elegant late 50s coat in a lovely lavender/lilac toned blue colour, close to periwinkle or cornflower (I can't quite pin it down, but on the violet spectrum of blues). Loose fitting design, with a single large button to the chest and slot pockets on the hip. Draped/gathered design to the back. And what really steals the show are the excellent collar, which can be worn up or down. It's a big portrait style collar with small tucks sewn in, very striking and gives the coat a slightly more "evening" flair. Equally excellent are the big balloon sleeves with fitted darts to the cuffs.Lined in lilac-y pink. Label is Darling's, Edinburgh.
The coat is not labeled with a size but fits many sizes as it is a loose fitted design, intended to be slightly oversized, but I would think best for a M-L. For your best fit please refer to the measurements, and remember to allow a little room for movement.
Chest: 46" (best fit at least 4" smaller as this isn't meant to be tight fitting)
Waist: 44" (same as above)
Sleeve, from underarm to cuff: 17"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam at top back: 16.5"
Length: 44" from nape to hem
Very good condition, just dry cleaned and pressed. Some discreet flaws:
-Lining has some discolouration that have not lifted when cleaned, but this can't be seen when worn.
-Some smaller faint marks, not very noticeable when worn, to the outer coat, please see photos. The most noticeable being by the button.
