Brown cotton swimsuit from the 1950s with a dark brown and green Indian print of elephants and paisley motifs. Really lovely fit with a boned bust, thin halter straps and nipped in waistline. Hip has a pleated mini skirt overlay and a built in internal pant underneath. Back metal zipper. Label is Rose Marie Reid.
The swimsuit is not labeled with a size, but fits approx like a modern day XS, approx a UK6, but please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: as shown, but this was tight as a sausage skin!
Chest: 29" unstretched, stretches to approx 32"
Waist: 22" unstretched, stretches to approx 24"
Hip: 32" unstretched, stretches to 37" approx
Top of bust to waist: 11"
Length: 27.5" approx from top of bust to gusset
Good condition. Presents very nicely and gusset is clean/unmarked.
-Judging by the fact that the label is brown and zipper pull looks like it may have been lilac, I think this has been dyed brown. There is a little bit of marking/mottling to the colour of the bust lining and the slightest bit of a shadowing to the waist and some of the seams, but all in all still presents well, nothing very noticeable.
-Shirring has been replaced.
