I have so much love for this type of 70s design, it is so modern and understated but still so very 70s with bold and dramatic sculptural designs. This one is unlabeled, but it reminds me of quite a few Jean Varon dresses I have sold, both the fabric, the cut (specially the pleating, back and sleeves!) The bodice has a wide rounded neck and a wide slightly padded waistband and huge drapey batwing balloon sleeves. The back really steals the show though, with a deep plunging angular design that is open all the way down to the waistband. Skirt has sewn in pleats to the centre front and back, that open from the hip down for fullness. Floorsweeping length. Fastens with a nylon zipper to the back of the skirt and two covered button to the waistband. No labels sadly. Fabric feels like a synthetic, possibly polyester, but a quite high quality one, some very slight stretch.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small, I would estimate a UK8-10. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: hard to measure due to the batwing cut, but approx to fit 32-34" bust
Waist: 27" (the waistband is quite thick so you might want to leave 0.5-1" of room for movement)
Shoulder to waist: 14" to top of waistband, 16" to bottom of waistband.
Sleeve from underarm to cuff: 20" (fits shorter due the batwing)
Very good condition. No labels.
