Handmade 50s cotton dress in a summery floral print - white with yellow and orange roses. Shirtwaister style with a collared v-neck and half sleeves with turn up cuffs and slightly puffed shoulders. Two decorative covered buttons to the chest and cuff, but dress fastens with two hidden popper buttons underneath. Waistband is fitted and fastens to the side seam with a metal zip. Skirt is generous and full. No labels, handmade.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale. Dress is also shown with a belt on the model, but this is not included in the sale either.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a M-L, (waist would count as volup, but the bust fits smaller than a volup size). For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 37.5" (best fit a little bit smaller to keep the placket from gaping)
Shoulder to waist: 14.5"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 13.5" but fits a bit wider due to the puff of the sleeve)
Sleeve from underarm to cuff: 10"
(There is a 1.8" hem on this)
Good condition. Dress is handmade so some of the finish are a bit handmade in nature. Some signs of alterations though these aren't easily noticeable when worn: Zipper has been replaced but with an authentic metal zip from the era, and there are some very slight pin pricks along the waist where this the bodice length has been let down, see photos.
