Fantastic 50s Horrockses dress in a light orange with a white floral silhouette print with exotic leaves and big flowers. Unusual and striking design with a double breasted chest which opens down to the hip and fastens to either side with little rows of buttons. Dress has a high square neck and short sleeves with underarm gussets. Waistline nips in for a classic 50s silhoutte and is secured with concealed hooks and eyes. Very full skirt. Comes with a matching tie belt.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a XS. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Chest: 35" (best fit slightly smaller)
Shoulder to waist: 17"
(There is a 1" hem on this)
Good condition but a little bit as is, though still presents very well, and most of the flaws are fairly hidden:
-There is some repairs to the underarms where the underarm gusset patch has been moved and resewn to fix the corners, basically this isn't something you would spot on the outside, only when looking internally.
-Some small darns under a few of the buttons, mainly the top four on the right hand side of the bodice, but also one of the hip buttons. This can't be seen when worn as it is just small spots of wear under the button and hidden under the placket when done up.
-One small mark by the hem. I also think the hem has been taken up at some point and then let back down as there is a very slight crease line 5.5" up from the current hem. It's not faded and very slight.
-Some small signs of scuffing/wear around some of the seams and darts.
Priced accordingly (had this been pristine it would have been listed at around £150) and sold as is.
