Handmade late 50s / early 60s day dress in a grey and white cotton with a big yellow mid century rose print. Overlapping bodice with a deep v-neck and sleeveless cut with top stitched cuffs. Fitted waistband with side zip and full skirt sewn in wide pleats. Crisp cotton. No labels.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat and a belt which are not included in the sale.
SIZE
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: as shown
Chest: 34-35" (would best fit 32-33" to keep the wrap designs and pleats best in place)
Underbust: 32"
Waist: 27"
Hip: free
Shoulder to natural waist: 15" (as the wrap bodice stretches on the width, this shortens slightly)
Length: 42.5"
(There is a 1" hem on this)
CONDITION
Good condition, but handmade piece, and some finishes are a little bit as such and I think it may have also had some alterations.
Zipper looks like it has been replaced and the arms have been altered, possibly originally sleeved and have been remade with a top stitched cuff with a slit in the top shoulder. The slit at the top is slightly different in width on each shoulder, but it's not too noticeable. Presents well even if the internal cuff finishing looks a little bit handdone/improvised.
Priced to reflect.
