Striking, very New Look, 50s princess coat by Verner Vogue. Midnight blue colour in a soft sheened grosgrain fabric which gives this a slighty evening/formal feel. The silhouette is dramatic with a firmly nipped in waistline and strong structure flared skirt with big almost peplum-like pocket flaps on the hip wtih concealed slot pockets in the seams. Single breasted cut with six matching covered buttons to the chest and a lovely big portrait collar to the neck, the sructured fabric is very shaping, and makes this look amazing slightly turned up. Long sleeves with turn up cuff and strong padded shoulders. Sweep is full and has sewn with decorative pleating. Fully lined in a thick glossy rayon.

CONDITION
Good condition.
-Some of the buttons are slightly discoloured, slightly pinkish in tone. And there is some barely perceptible lightening also around the hem, where the midnight blue has taken on a slightly slightly purpley hue, but this is very slight and nothing that detracts when worn.
-Some areas of sheen in the grosgrain fabric. These show up as white streaks in the photos, but they are the same colour as the rest of the coat in real life, it is just the studio lights reflects differently to the areas of sheen, so in real life these are much less noticeable.
