Gold and blue metallic stripe evening dress by Blanes from the 1950s. Great silhouette with a dropped waist and sculptural fitted bodice with wide square neck and a decorative placket with small covered buttons. Short sleeve. Natural waist is cinched in with multiple darts and the waistband sits on the high hip and has a standing trim and long trailing side bows. Sewn in wide box pleats for a generous fullness and a long midi length. Side metal zipper to fasten. Lightweight synthetic fabric with a slightly slubby texture. Unlined. Not seen this blanes label before, would estimate early 50s.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
