This print though - so good! Berkertex Continetals cotton day dress, late 50s, in a brown, orange, white and yellow print of ornate baroque towering sculptures and architectural ornamentations with roman figures, harpy style naked ladies with birds heads, horned devil like fauns, two headed birds, and angels. Richly detailed and just the right amount of risque and gothic. Fitted bodice with short sleeve and a deep scooped neck in back and high round neck in front. Fitted waist and full skirt sewn in very neat paired and perfectly pattern matched pleats - I just love the attention to detail with pattern placement - this is how it's done.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
SIZE
The dress is labeled a size 16 SHORT but fits approx like a S. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model: belted in to fit
Chest: 35" flat, but bust has curved seams to allow for fullness, so curving the measuring tape this can pull to 38" taut, but I definitely think this is meant to fit more like a 35" but with some room for a full bust
Underbust: 35"
Waist: 27.5" (but best fit smaller, would advice for 27" and as it is slightly short waisted, if you are very tall, this will sit slightly over your natural waist, so I would err on the side of caution)
Hip: free
Shoulder to natural waist: 14.5"
Length: 40" (generous hem to work with if desired)
(There is a 5.2" hem on this)
CONDITION
Good condition. One very neat linear machine dart repair to the underarm. Not very noticeable when worn, see photo.
