Beautiful dark red, black and white fine check patterned 50s Horrockses dress. Fitted bodice cut on the bias with a high rounded neck and sleeveless arms. Neck, arm holes and front seam is finished with a black piping. Fitted waistband with a full skirt sean in narrow gathers and layered with a red synthtic lining and meshy net petticoat. Back metal zipper to fasten. The outer fabric is a semi sheer woven material, feels like a cotton-synthetic blend, slightly shiney and non-crease texture. This gives the dress a slightly more formal feel, part governess, part winter festiveness.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.

CONDITION
Good condition. A couple of small scuffs and a very faint mark to the skirt, see last photos. The red lining has been cut and finished with a pretty neatly zigzagged edged, but this can't be seen when worn, so doesn't detract.
