Amazing Alice Edwards "Italians" thick brown dress with a massive sweep and the funnest leopard cat applique on a chainlink lead, I guess a play on the traditional poodle skirt, but make it a bit more fierce. Cat is made from a crisp leopard print with black stitching and gorgeous embroidered green eyes. Thick sewn collar with an embroidered lead curving up to the waist. Classic 50s silhouette with a bodice with darted waist and bust and a high wide rounded neck trimmed with white piping. Wide set shoulder with slashed armholes, technically sleeveless, but the wide set shoulder create an almost cap sleeve effect. Fitted waist with side metal zipper. Full skirt, not quite circle sweep, but so generous. Not sure of fabric content, feels like a thick cotton or cotton blend.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.

CONDITION
Very good condition. Slight bit of wear to top of zip and small repair to the top of the seam at the other underarm. Missing the original belt. Hem is neatly rolled and finished with a top stitch. At the side seams this has been reinforced slightly, where seam allowance had started fraying, see last two photos, the sweep is massive so it's not noticeable when worn.
