40s Rue de la Paix in fine black wool with lavish embellishments with black glass beads and droplet shaped faceted glass gems as well as swirling shimmering metallic soutach and grosgrain ribbons. Open cut silhoutte with a matching belt to cinch the silhouette in. Long sleeve with padded shoulder. Elegant collarless v-neck with embellished placket and matching design on the hip pockets. Softly flared midi skirt. Fully lined in high quality black satin, hand finished. Makers name is not present, but Rue de Paix was a famous fashion street with a Haute Couture in the early 1900s, the location for House of Worth at no 7 and Jeanne Paquin at no 3, so most likely a high end tailored garment, it's beautifully made.

CONDITION
Good condition.
-A few small darns, most to the back and lower part of coat, none that detract particularly when worn. Also some small scuff holes. See photos. If held to the light there are some tiny tiny pin holes in the skirt, that can't be seen when worn.
-There are a couple (I think) of missing beads, but it's very hard to tell as beading is not identical on both sides of the placket. But definitely one missing by the neck. And there is the slightest signs on the pockets that this may have had some beading there? which has been removed. So slight, nothing that detracts.
-Slight wear to trim at back of neck, see last photo.
-Belt buckle is worn with some of the fabric fraying and coming loose a bit. One sectionf the belt holes has been sewn over where belt was damaged. It's a plain black belt so could be replaced quite easily, but still works well as is.
-Lining is good, nice and stong, but does have some small pin holes and scuffs, though nothing that detracts or effects wear.
