Absolutely showstopping late 40s coat by Trewarne. This is spectacular, beautiful grey and orange striped wool, such a great Art Deco design. Single breasted cut with slightly off centred buttons, three chunky grey shank buttons. Huge pointed collar with the stripe pattern perfectly matched up - I love this attention to detail, it's so neat! Loose fitted sleeve with wide cuff featuring a angular fold over with a button. Fitted waist, probably originally came with a belt, but this is missing, but I definitely think this would be best worn with a belt as the waist is unbuttoned. Small darts opening under the bust to give silhouette fullness. Softly a-lining skirt with big slot pockets on the hip. Back of skirt is pleated for a lovely fuller style. Lined in brown rayon.

CONDITION
Good condition.
-Externally very good, with no real noticeable flaws, just light minor wear. A slight bit of rubbing wear to the edges of the cuffs. One tiny pin hole to back of coat.
-Lining is a little bit worn, it has one strip of matching reinforcement to the back of the collar and some neatly patched areas to the inside of the cuff lining, nothing visible when worn. Underarm lining is a little bit worn and has some seam repairs inside, some slight signs of seam straining, but still very wearable. As with all vintage coats at some point the lining would probably benefit from being replaced.
