50s handmade novelty skirt in a very unusual artistically drawn novelty border print with French summer scenes - beaches, park walkers, a street pub, rural scenery, sailboats. Though not immediately identifiable location wise, it looks like France, there is a French flag on the beach and one of the scenes of Flaneurs has the L'art de Triomphe in the background. I wish the print was labeled with the artist, as it is so unusual, soft painterly scenes, acrylics or watercolours, which makes it look almost handpainted. Crisp white cotton with high fitted waistband and metal zipper and hooks to fasten. Handsewn hem. Full fit, big sweep, which is sewn in inchwide pleats to the waistband. Skirt is handmade, no labels.
Skirt is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
