This is a dream. 80s original Lanvin jacket that just exudes 50s New Look. Made from a beautiful 80% silk blended with cotton this has a lovely graphite grey horizontal pinstripe pattern, lightweight and unlined but with the fabric layered double, so this could easily be worn both as a blouse or as a light jacket. Dramatic cut with a diagonal placket fastened with big polished buttons. Collarless v-neck. Huge puffed sleeves which taper into a snugly fitted cuff with a small zip to fasten. Waist is cinched in and the bodice section actually has light boning sewn into the side seams - I mean the attention to detail is just beyond. Hip has a big flippy peplum with the print sewn in chevron pattern matched panelling. Made in France and this is truly vintage retro done at it's best - everything about this piece is masterly - fabric, silhoutte, buttoning, the dramatic shoulders *chef's kiss*.
