Decadent 30s black velvet strappy party dress with the most elegant Art Deco style, sleek and understated and soft as a feather. Slim fitting pillar silhoutte, very softly flared towards the hem, with a hand sewn gathered centre seam to the front of the dress. Sweetheart neck and thin shoulder straps with handsewn sequins. Very low cut plunge back with hooks and eyes to fasten. No labels, this looks like a handmade piece.

CONDITION
Good wearable condition considering age, but does have some visible signs of wear and repair, and priced accordingly. Still a smashing original dress, very rare.
-Handmade dress and some of the finishes are a little bit make-do but this is mostly when examined inside. A lot of handsewn seams and handwork to sequins.
-There some areas with fray wear which has been handdarned (historically by the looks of it). This is the case where the straps attach to the bodice at the back and also to either side at the top of the hook and eye fastening at the lower back. There are two small darns to the skirt, at the back just above the hem. Almost impossible to see when worn due to where they are.
-Held to the light you can see some small pin holes in the velvet to the lower part of the skirt, but these are not visible when worn.
-There are two slight marks, on the outer velvet these show mainly as a faint lighter patch of difference in texture, and on the inside you can see the faint outline of a mark, one is on the hip and the other just above the hem at the back, the latter really doesn't show when worn, as it in such an unnoticeable area. See last two photos.
-Sequins are a little bit tarnished with age. Some missing sequins at the back on one of the straps, just were it attaches to the bodice.
