Ethereal vintage white gauze cotton dress, very light frothy fabric, bodice sheer and skirt layered so less see through. Bodice is unfitted and pintucked all over with delicate threaded lacey sections inbetween. Pater pan collar with ruffled trim and short puffed sleeves with matching cuffs. Back buttoning. Fitted waist. Beautiful full midi skrit with tiered design to the hem. This is lined with a light cotton underskirt for coverage.
NB. Looks very much like a lawn dress from the 30s but may be a traditional dress for some event, possibly a teen, as it is lacking bust darts and fit is a bit short-waisted, but size fits and small adult and wears well with a belt. I think it is later than 30s but not modern, it looks a traditional tailored design, some of the stitching is very neatly done in hand and all internal seams are French. Label reads Char D Barcelona. The attention to detail and the quality of the fabric is lovely,
