Beautiful rich warm russet orange coloured late 40s / early 50s dress by Fred Howard with a small brown spot print. Lovely design with a shirt style bodice with massive pointed collar and seven big dark red buttons to the chest. 3/4 sleeve with turn up cuffs. Fitted waistband with a full circle skirt, sewn in pleats over the hips and finished in a generous midi length. Fabric is a rustly, slightly formal feeling, synthetic with a lovely lustre and a soft striped effect to the weave. Absolutely gorgeous and wears well both with and without a petticoat.

The dress is labeled a size 16 to fit a 39" hip but fits approx like a modern day xx. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.

CONDITION
Good condition. Some issues worth note, still presents beautifully and priced to reflect.
-Some small marks to the skirt and some lightened patches in the fabric, see photos, and a couple of small marks near the hem. The skirt is very full, so this hides quite well in the fullness and folds when worn. It's not at all as noticeable as it seems in the photos.
-Some small signs of wear to the fabric under the arms and one the collar and one tiny darn to the hem.
