Lovely early to mid 60s sun dress by Kitty Copeland, styled in pure silk. Painterly check in slate grey and yellow on soft cream. High empire shelf bust with a rounded neck and thinnest shoulder straps. Wide waistband which is cut on the bias for some soft give. Fitted waistband. Full skirt sewn in tiny gathers. Fabric is lightweight and beautifully soft. Back zipper to fasten. Bodice is lined in lightest viscose, skirt lined with a net petticoat. Great silhouette and such a perfect summer piece which transitions well into autumn when layered over a top or blouse.
Dress is pictured with a petticoat which is not included in the sale.
The dress is not labeled with a size but fits approx like a Small. For your best fit please refer to the measurements.
Fit on model:
Chest: 33-34" (bust is not bias cut so this is pretty firm)
Underbust: 31-32" (underbust to waist is bias cut so has some movement/give)
Waist: 27-28.5" (same as above, has a bit of give due to the bias)
Shoulder to underbust: approx 11"
Shoulder to natural waist: 16.5" on the hanger, but will fit shorter as the bias fabric to the waist stretches)
Skirt length from waist: 24"
Length: approx 41" (due to the bias cut at the waist, this may fit slightly shorter when worn as the bias will shorten as it stretches)
(There is a 1.5" hem on this)
Very good condition. Presents beautifully. Some small things to note, but none that detract when worn:
-One faint are of discolouration, grey tinged in brown to the print on the bust, very slight and doesn't detract.
-Zipper has been replaced.
